An Olympic Update

The world is more than two weeks into the 2010 Winter Olympics. Many people turn the Olympic Games into a world competition to see which country can win the most medals. A lot of people are against this. I am all for it.

The United States has the most medals seven gold, nine silver, and 12 bronze for a total of 28. Germany has 26, Norway has 19, Canada has 15, and Russia has 13.

Eight of America’s medals have come from alpine skiing; five of them are from snowboarding; four from short track speed skating; and three form freestyle skiing.

After beating Canada 5-3 in men’s ice hockey, team USA is in the frozen four, and hopefully headed for a gold medal.
