    The Google Doodles

The Google doodle for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada. While there were some that featured a specific sport, this one was featured at the beginning of the Olympics, commemorating the vastness of the event online.

Admit it, no matter how hard Yahoo or Bing or any other search engines try, they just can’t top Google.  The search engine that has been around since 1998 keeps its top spot with its good web coverage, amazing offices for employees that everyone envies, and of course its Google doodles.

The Google doodles often coincide with holidays or large events.  For example, during the Winter Olympics there was a new doodle each day the coincided with the events occurring.  Not only do they cover sports, but seemingly minor “special” days of the year. If ever you’re unawares of the reason for the doodle, simply click on it and more information will be provided.

The Google doodles are done by a special committee of artists in Google who simply doodle around on their tablet PCs or sketch out on notebooks what they want to do.  The only rules? It must incorporate the Google letters; other than that there’s complete creativity.
