Last night, I had the pleasure of watching the Primetime Emmy Awards on CBS, with host, Neil Patrick Harris, who did a marvelous job. Many actresses showed upon the red carpet  in glowing gowns, while the men looked polished in designer suits.

Some of the best dresses included Drew Barrymore, who wore a pink strapless Monique Lhullier gown, while Christina Applegate had a navy satin Basil Soda dress. Hayden Panettiere, of Heroes, had a red one shoulder J. Mendel gown. Kate Walsh also wore a pale blue J. Mendel dress. 30 Rock actress, Tina Fey, wore a black Gucci gown and Mariska Hargitay wore a silver Carolina Herrera dress. Heidi Klum, who is 8 1/2 months pregnant, was wearing a black Marchesa gown, while Sandra Oh, of Grey’s Anatomy, wore a gold lace Marchesa gown. Jenna Fischer of The Office, wore a slim black Reem Acra dress.

Winners of the night included:

Supporting Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series: Kristen Chenoweth, (Pushing Daisies) and Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men).

Lead Actor/Actress in a Comedy Series: Toni Collette, (United States of Tara) and Alec Baldwin (30 Rock).

Best Reality Host: Jeff Probst (Survivor).

Outstanding Reality Competition: The Amazing Race

Outstanding Supporting Actor/Actress in a Drama Series: Michael Emerson, (Lost)  and Cherry Jones, (24)

Lead Drama Actress/Actor: Glenn Close, (Damages) and Bryan Cranston, (Breaking Bad).

Outstanding Comedy: 30 Rock  Outstanding Drama: Mad Men

Writing for Variety, Musical or Comedy series: The Daily Show with John Stewart.

Guest Actor in a Comedy: Justin Timberlake, (SNL)
