Olympic skier Bode Miller, representing the United States at Vancouver, moved his way into history as he conquered the challenging slalom course and won his first gold at these Olympic games.

Bode Miller in action. He had a tremendous run and an incredible time which rocketed him far into first where he would not be caught by his fellow competitors.
Miller overcame the obstacles that this tricky course threw despite his bum knee and aching right ankle. So far these games, Miller has also won a bronze medal in downhill and a silver medal in the super-G event. Miller is recognized as one of the best skiers of all time after achieving world trophies, Olympic medals of every color and cleaning himself up from 2006 Turin Olympic games.
In an interview regarding those infamous 2006 games, Miller said, “In ’06, I didn’t really necessarily want to be there for a number of reasons … but, you know, I also didn’t want to not be there. So I was incredibly conflicted.” He went on to say, “I think I had no intention really of blowing it, but I raced as hard as I could, but I didn’t have this motivation. I didn’t have the energy and the enthusiasm.”
Miller has two more events, the giant slalom and slalom, in which he and others have expressed high hopes. The United States can count on good things from Bode Miller in his upcoming events.
